my Story
I started making up stories when I was 17. Blame Stephen King. I read his short novel Silver Bullet. After that Misery. Then Pet Semetary. It. And the story continues. At that moment I started with a story ‘The Swim’. 25 years later I wrote a screenplay about it. It received some awards at international film festivals. Some producers from Hollywood were interested. But you know it’s a hard world. Some people from ‘the scene’ told me to be careful. And they were right.
Well… you have to know that I didn’t just sit there on my butt writing stories. Did some tours with rock bands as a guitarplayer. Blame Guns n’ Roses. I played in churches on organs… Blame Bach. I studied journalism and worked for newspapers. Blame those brave seekers for the truth. After that I earned a Master degree for Dutch Language and Culture. Blame my homeland, as I am a child of my culture. Was a ghost and speechwriter for politicians and CEO’s and for police. Now I’m a lecturer in Film and Communication. Film? Yeah, after years I finally followed my inner passion: the story on the screen. Blame Hollywood.
